So last night I watched The Vampire Diaries season premiere. It didn’t seem half bad, although definitely not as good as True Blood (season finale this Sunday, can’t wait!). I’ve always had an affinity for vampires, but I’ll have to catch a few more episodes before I decide if I’ll continue watching or not.
But now I am even more anxious for November 20th to get here! I’m so looking forward to New Moon, the next movie in the Twilight Saga (although, I seriously think “The Twilight Saga” sounds kind of stupid). I guess I’ll just have to be satisfied by Vampire Diaries and True Blood until then…. I wonder if the only place to get Tru-Blood soda is the HBO website? I’d love to try it.

Last night I attended an exclusive Fashion Event put on by Flare magazine and Wear Else (This Vancouver store sells lines like Pink Tartan, Nanette Lepore, Trina Turk, Theory, Michael by Michael Kors, Tracy Reese, Teenflo and Michael Stars to name a few!, oh and Cole Haan and one of my faves, Juicy!). I drank a few Frambois-tinis and enjoyed the fashion show.
Some of the trends hit up on included the return of big shoulders (not necessarily padded, but dramatic) and hosiery of all sorts, including leggings in denim and leather. There was also a short discussion on how fashion is relevant in down economies as an important form of self expression. (Of course we all know that Fashion is forever!)
Also found out that Rodarte will be the next designer to team up with Target stores for their Go International limited collection. Apparently there’s going to be a great collection of holiday dresses. I love holiday dress shopping! (They’ll be available from Dec. 20 – Feb 6, so mark your calendars!, and don’t forget that in just a few days (Sep. 13) Anna Sui’s Gossip-Girl inspired collection hits Target as well!)
It was a fun night – Caught a few glimpses of Local celebs – Dawn Chubai of Vancouver’s BT (Breakfast Television) MC’d the event, as her clothes on BT are from Wear Else. Also saw Fiona Forbes, another Vancouver TV personality (Shaw TV’s Urban Rush). See pics

As much as Fall is my most favourite season, I know I’ll be longing for all these long hot’n'humid days (and sultry nights!) as soon as it starts to get chilly out. I can’t believe its the last week of August already!
But onto my story that I just had to share… The other night I went out for an impromptu grocery shop. Its terrible, I know, but I drink at least one Red Bull every day and I needed to get a case… Right before I left I put on my Energy Muse LUCK bracelet and necklace. I just saw it on my dresser and knew I should wear it. Anyway, at the store, I picked up a case of the Red Bull and noticed it was $8.99. But at the checkout it scanned for $9.49. I mentioned this to the cashier, and in accordance to the Canada’s Scanning Code of Practice, I got it for FREE!!!! Yippeee
Yes, it may be something silly and minor, and a measly 10 bucks, but those little things put a grin on my face. Was it coincidence? Positive thinking? I dunno…. But I’m definitely thinking of wearing the LUCK bracelet and necklace again for the next few days and then picking up a lottery ticket.
Anyone who shops in Canada should be aware of the scanning code of practice – If something scans wrong, you get the first of that item free, up to a value of $10! Skilled Shoppers always know store policies and their rights!
Does anyone else have Energy Muse jewellery? You can get it at the Energy Muse website. Each piece comes in a cute box with a pouch, and a scroll with an affirmation, info about the stones and how to “charge” and care for the item.

So its Saturday (finally). The weather hasn’t cleared up in Vancouver, still raining. Tomorrow night is the return of Mad Men…. my most favourite TV show featuring a 1960′s ad agency… Hope Season 3 is great! For something to do, Check out MadMenYourself.com. You can pick your body, face, clothes and background. Then you can save it as an Icon (for FaceBook or whatever) and even for your desktop backgroud. Neato Keen!
I think I’m going to pick up some berries and cream, and make an angel food cake! Mmmmm
On a less fun note, I need to say is I am very disappointed with the Philly Eagles for signing animal abuser Michael Vick. I’m going to contact their corporate sponsors and let them know how upset I am.
Now I’m off to enjoy my weekend!

While I love Summer of course, Fall is my favourite season! New fall clothes are coming out in the stores and new fall makeup collections are here.
Reminder: To ensure you get what you want, buy colder weather clothing before you need it. You don’t want to end up with the dregs everything else has left behind!
I’ve already bought some new nail polishes in rich purple and berry tones. The new Sephora catalog came a few days ago… I live in Vancouver so we are happy as we recently got Sephora stores here. Its been a long wait….. While I usually order online, I had to drive down to Seattle to see new products and check out different colours.
Right now I am reading a novel called “Palace Circle” by Rebecca Dean. Its a historical fiction (similar to Philippa Gregory who wrote “The Other Boleyn Girl”) I’m about 1/4 way through. I’ve also DVR’d the 1975 documentary “Grey Gardens”. I watched the Drew Barrymore movie, and just had to see the documentary it was based on! Its about Jackie O’s cousin and aunt, who went from High Society Debutantes to reclusive hermits hiding away in their once magnificent mansion.

Gotta Get Something - My site for Dream, Schemes & Treasured Things. This blog is for my personal musings on anything and everything. Favourite things I want, like or Gotta Get. Some Inspirations, Aspirations, and maybe even some Affirmations. It might even include things like pet-peeves and other things I can’t stand. And it will definitely include an overuse of Exclamation Points!!!
I think most people are like me and love the following: Life, Food, Fun, Love, and Beauty. I also really love Shopping! Clothes, Shoes, Jewellery, Accessories, Makeup, Cosmetics, and other bath lotions ’n’ potions. I love fashion but am not really into being a fashionista.
As a lifelong learner, I have amassed a tonne of knowledge (some of it less practical than I’d like) and I truly want to share it. Gotta Get Something is all about shopping, clothes, makeup, oh, and everything else! I’ve purposely forgot “Fashion”, as there are oh, about a bazillion other fashion websites and blogs out there. While fashion won’t necessarily be left out, my site aims to be more practical in application. Focusing more on shopping well than the trendy, in-style items to wear. With articles, lists, how-to charts, plans and reviews, here are just a few “Somethings” to look forward to:

~ Gotta Get Something - Sarah’s Complete Guide to Shopping
~ My Favourite Hair, Body and Skin Care Products
Its my own personal site to share my own brand of balance. Indulgence, Extravagance, Decadence tempered with common-sense, practicality, and precision.
